Look What Happens When You Think No One Is Watching!

peekingI was chatting on the phone recently with one of my PetSittingOlogy members, Andy Pomaville.

Andy owns and operates Playful Paws Miami and uses my pet sitting website template.

He has opened for business just 3 short months ago and currently serves a handful of clients. Andy loves how everything is going so far, and shared this interesting note to me on the phone.

Just As You Think No One Is Watching…

Andy’s client’s neighbor made it a point to let him (the client) know that she sees the dog walker everyday doing a wonderful job with his dog.

Imagine that!

Look How One Pet Sitter Got Her Phone Ringing Off The Hook (Say Cheese!)

Josh Cary photoHi! My name is Josh Cary. And that’s me in the picture there.

Why am I posting a photo of myself?

To help prove a point that adding a picture of yourself to your pet sitting website creates an emotional bond between you and the visitor.

And that bond has powerful conscious and subconscious positive effects on your website visitor’s entire experience with you.

This blog post was inspired by my pet sitting colleague Nicole Ryan from Pineapple Pets in Florida.

Nicole sent me an incredible email recently that is truly inspiring.

While Nicole is one of many pet sitters using my WordPress SEO Website System, she has taken it to the next level, and the results speak for themselves.

Read the email Nicole sent and you’ll understand just how simple it is to achieve the exact same results:

Become The Life Saving Pet Sitter for Pregnant Women

baby hands photoWe received a call recently through Alitia’s Animals (my pet sitting business) from a pregnant woman who, in a couple months, will be giving birth.

She has a sweet, loving, Pekingese dog who will soon be the big brother to the family’s new baby.

This pet owner got in touch with us because she needs pet care in place (quite possibly at a moment’s notice) while in labor at the hospital.

We have gone on the meet-n-greet, worked out all the details, got a set of keys, signed the documents and even received a $50 deposit that will be applied to service when she is rushed to the hospital.

Now, we wait for a brief text, email or phone call alerting us that our pet sitting job will immediately begin.

Nobody has to rush around later trying to coordinate proper pet care – it’s all already handled and she is in our system.

This is very responsible thinking on the part of the family.

These Are The Online Tools I Can’t Live Without

tools
Working with the right tools in your pet sitting business can be the difference between succeeding or not.

Running a pet sitting business like we do (or running any business, for that matter) can fail or succeed based on the tools you use to manage your business day-to-day.

It’s no different than building a house, for example.

If you do not have the right tools to build the house, you will obviously be struggling from the very beginning.

Take a minute and think about what aspect of running your pet sitting business can run a bit smoother, make your life easier, erase your frustration.

It might be a task you don’t have time for, don’t have the desire to do, or don’t have the knowledge to complete.

In any case, arming yourself with the right tools and resources can be a life saver.

Blogging and Keywords: A Real Pet Sitter Blog Post Example

note book
Blogging is a quick way to improve your search engine rankings. And it’s easy to do.

If I were a betting man, I would say you fall into one of three categories when it comes to pet sitters who blog:

1 – You currently blog, and are excited about the higher results in the search engines you are receiving because of your blogging efforts.

2 – You currently do not blog, but understand that you probably should learn more about it so you can reap the rewards too.

3 – You do not blog, have no interest in blogging, and do not understand why you should in the first place.

Don’t get me wrong: Blogging takes work.

It takes work to pull off, and it takes work to learn the ropes of how to do it correctly.

But it’s easy as pie to learn (anyone can do it) and blogging will help catapult your website to the top of the search rankings.

The 5 Basic Reasons A Pet Owner Will Not Hire You As Their Pet Sitter

stop sign
The reason a potential client may not go with your pet sitting service is easy to overcome.
Here’s a bit of good news and bad news:

The bad news is that there are five basic reasons a pet owner (potential client) will not hire you.

The good news is that as pet sitters, we can easily overcome the top two reasons.

Have you heard of Zig Ziglar? Simply put, he was (and will remain) the legendary motivational speaker and sales training guru.

One of his most famous quotes goes like this:

“Every sale has five basic obstacles: no need, no hurry, no desire, no money, no trust.” — Zig Ziglar

I received a note recently from a pet sitter who asked if I have addressed the “Let me talk to my wife” objection from a potential client.

This is that article 😉

Pet Sitters Who Blog are More Successful than Pet Sitters Who Do Not Blog – Here’s Why.

dot com blog
Adding a blog to your pet sitting website will put you ahead of the competition – and it’s easier than you think.

How in the world does blogging help a pet sitter get more clients?

And how does blogging help with SEO (search engine optimization)?

These are just two great questions I was asked recently in a Facebook group.

Let me begin, first, with what I mean when I say “Pet Sitters who blog are more successful than pet sitters who do not blog.”

Today – sure – there may be some very successful pet sitters who have never blogged a day in their lives. And those are the exceptions to the rule.

The business world around us in changing – and it’s changing very quickly.

The Way Pet Sitters Use LLC in a Logo

sign agreement
Forming an LLC for your pet sitting business can be a smart move. But this article addresses a different angle.

This post was inspired by an email I received from a pet sitter colleague.  Please keep your questions and emails coming!

A limited liability company, or LLC, has become the go-to choice for many pet sitting businesses, including mine.

According to Legal Zoom, it’s quickly establishing itself as the most popular choice for a new business.

In fact, the LLC has surpassed the Corporation structure for new startups with 1-5 persons.

There are many distinct advantages to forming an LLC including protection against your personal assets (thus limited liability).

You are able to minimize your personal liability and gain substantial business credibility.

As a member of an LLC, you are not personally responsible for company debts, which is why it is a popular choice among entrepreneurs.

Your Personal Secret Weapon to Attract More Pet Sitting Clients

on target photoI was reviewing a pet sitter’s website recently and I read a very intriguing part that was hidden on her About page.

She currently lives with three wonderful rescue dogs.

Can you imagine not highlighting this front and center on your website?

Why would you want to do that? Because this could become your niche – and could increase your client base!

The word niche is defined as a specialized market.

A niche market for a wedding planner, for example, might be specializing in weddings on a budget.

Another example might be found in someone who teaches public speaking techniques. Public speaking is a very big market.

However, someone may choose to target a smaller, yet still profitable segment, like public speaking for students. This would be very valuable for graduates getting ready to enter the work force.
