SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is about all the ways you can improve your website to…
Why You Should Pay Me For Your Pet Sitting Website
Your pet sitting website is most likely an extremely important part of your marketing plan and overall success.
Personally, my own pet sitting business relies exclusively on its website to keep the phone ringing and the food on the table!
Since 2009, I have been dispensing advice here on PetSittingOlogy primarily focusing on ways to enhance your website.
And in December 2011, I began offering pet sitters their own WordPress pet sitting website, completely designed and developed with SEO in mind.
Here is the answer to a common question I receive.
How Does Your Service Differ from Something Like Godaddy? -or- Why Should I Pay You When I Can Get It For Cheaper Elsewhere?
This is a great question. One of the big misconceptions about what I provide is “why would I pay you X dollars when I could just pay a hosting company less to host my site?”
Here’s the thing…
In order to really tackle the “I can it cheaper…” question, we must first compare Apples to Apples.
I replied this way in a recent comment left on this blog post of mine:
You say you can get “a much cheaper rate going with someone else.”
Let’s first compare apples to apples.
Look at my website system for $19.94/month and show me a similar product that you can get “much cheaper”. What are you getting for a cheaper rate? Sure, hosting can be found cheaper, but my product is much more than hosting. And I don’t know of a WordPress designer who will give you a quality product much cheaper either.
And I caution you to simply go with something just because it’s cheaper. It’s like we say in our pet sitting industry, if you are price shopping you might not be the right client for me.
For my very reasonable fee, I not only hand you a fully functional WordPress design and layout, full of all the bells and whistles for you to get going, but I also provide incredible, top notch support every step of the way.
So, Why Not Go With GoDaddy?
When you sign up for hosting through a site like Godaddy or Hostgator, you receive empty space on a server for you to begin designing, adding, and creating your website pages. You will also be responsible for installing WordPress yourself and choosing a theme (design layout), installing all the plugins and widgets to work with.
In other words, nothing is created for you. They give you the space.
Think of it like this: When you sign up for hosting through a hosting company, it’s like you are given just an empty plot of land.
It becomes your responsibility to get your dream house built with all the bells and whistles.
You’d have to work with an architect to draft your blueprints. You’d have to hire a builder to build your home. You’d have to hire contractors to paint your house. You’d have to hire a landscaper to make the outside look just how you want it.
With my WordPress powered SEO System, you get everything – the “entire team” is included!
Keeping with the house analogy:
I provide you…
-the land (hosting)
-the front and back yard (plenty of space for your files)
-the empty new beautiful house (WordPress installed and ready to go)
-the stainless steel appliances (professional template ready to convert your visitors into clients)
-the deck and patio furniture (WordPress plugins that add functionality to your site like photo gallery, contact form, mobile site version, rotating quotes, etc.)
-the contractors (full tech support) to help along the way.
Your only job is to furnish the rooms and decorate it how you wish (just insert your own content and you’re done!)
To Recap (and Everything is Unlimited!)
These are just a few examples of the elements I hand you out of the gate when you sign up for my WordPress pet sitting website system.
You have the unlimited freedom to do anything at all with your site. Add unlimited page. Create unlimited email. Go unlimited crazy! It’s your website.
Understand that what I give you out of the gate is a strong foundation that is designed and proven to work.
I continue to hear ongoing feedback from pet sitters who are experiencing wonderful results from their website.
I also listen to constant input on how to make it even better for pet sitters.
I hope this post allows you to see how you can benefit from my website system. In any case, you get a 60-day “cancel for any reason” guarantee, so it’s a win-win!

Hi Josh, I recently switched from Intuit where I was paying $70.00 per month for web hosting and SEO and without a doubt what you have to offer for at under 20.00 per month is far superior.
Hey Anthony, Whoa, $70 per month? Besides the hosting, what were they offering you in that package on the SEO front? And thanks for your kind words.
I too have had different hosting companies. Intuit (it did not include seo), network solutions, mynapps (ugh, that one was the worst and my once awesome google rankings tanked because of them), squarespace and others I cannot remember. I never had a godaddy site, they look awful!
They were always such a pain. The text wouldn’t line up, the photos were too big or too small. I did not have a good looking logo and could hardly get my not so pretty logo to work, so I had to go with the templates they offered.
I wanted to have a WP site for a long time, but could not find anyone who was creating a template with lots of plugins right off the bat. I couldn’t figure out how to make my WP site not look like a blog. It was all very confusing!
Josh, you got it right with your newest template. The first one was still confusing to me, but I understood most of what I needed to do on the second template since you have all those instructions.
Just like with my biz insurance, I jumped at the chance to get a Josh site because I could he understood my industry. Pet sitting is – dare I say it? WEIRD line of work. It’s completely unique and you NEED someone who gets it.
Stop worrying about price and what lame sites like godaddy sell you!
Thanks much, Michelle, for putting it all into perspective here! I’m happy to know the current template is working for you. We did put many hours into it to get it right – and we continue to evolve it, as needed. Thanks for being a part of this.
I built my website by spending hours learning how to do it, and then paying someone to make graphics for it, and someone else to help optimize it. The templates, plugins, etc started to really add up. The more I tried to DIY, the more I ended up spending. Then my host at the time, GoDaddy, was slow and becoming a nightmare, so I switched to a different- more expensive- host, and went through countless tech help calls, and finally paying someone to transfer the site. All in all, I don’t even want to think how much time and money was sunk into it. I probably could have better spent the time on anything else. Too bad your template wasn’t out then! But knowing what else is out there & what it takes to have a good website — what you’re offering is one heck of a deal.
Hey Jackie – Allow me to print out and frame your words on my wall 🙂 It’s a story I hear all too often. And weirdly enough it’s also a trap: falsely believing that if I just do it myself I’ll save time, effort and money. Not always the case. If you need anything going forward with your site, just reach out. Thanks for your comment.
