How to Become Instantly More Professional Through A Business Email Address

(Video Length: 8 minutes 53 seconds) Hey there, we are live, thanks for tuning in, you got Josh Cary here founder of PetSittingOlogy with another Q&A video for you.

One of our members asked: “How do you create a business email address for your pet business?”

That’s such a good question because you can instantly become that much more professional by using a business email address.

What is a business email address? Let’s say, for example, your website is JoshsPetSitting.com. You can create an email address like hello@joshspetsitting.com or services@, contact@ josh@ … Anything you wish @<your domain name .com>.

Creating an email address is so simple to do. If you are currently already using our PetSittingOlogy Get Found First SEO Platform for your website this is all included. There’s absolutely no additional charge and you can have unlimited business email addresses.

I’m also going to show you exactly how to do it if you are not using our platform. Chances are that your webhost includes it. If you’re with a host that charges you for email accounts I would suggest looking for another host because there are so many hosts and reputable providers that include it.

Create Your Pet Business Email Address Via Cpanel

Login to your Cpanel using the username and password that was sent as part of your welcome email packet. (Ask your current host if you do not know how to access your cpanel.) Login screen can typically be found at /cpanel.

Once inside your cpanel, scroll down to the section where it says ‘Email’ and click on ‘Email Account.’ In about 10 seconds you can have your own business email account set up.

Let’s say I want to create one that is contact@. In this field I will type contact and now I’m going to type in a password. Important Note: I need to stress the importance of creating a strong password for your sake for the integrity of your account. cpanel provides a button that you click that says ‘Password Generator’ to easily achieve this.

Set your mailbox quota to unlimited. And keep checked where it says ‘Send Welcome Email with mail client configuration instructions.’ Click ‘Create’ and just like that it says account created for contact@.

Set Up An Email Address to Forward to My Current Email Address

You may want to keep things as they are and simply have your new business email address forward to your current email address. This is how you do that.

If you just want all email to arrive to your current address you’re going to create what’s called an Email Forward. Click on ‘Forward’ then click on ‘Add Forwarder’.

Type in the email address you want to use and then type in your current email address where you want all email to arrive (like your aol, yahoo, gmail, etc address).

Note: You do not need to set up an email address like in the first step above AND set it up as a forward.  Choose one or the other.

Over to You

That’s it! Not difficult to do, right? Now you can decide where you want to send and receive your new business email. It can be via webmail, the Gmail interface, your phone, Outlook, or any other email tool you are comfortable with.

Any questions? Send them my way. Always happy to help you gain a more professional edge so you can get found first!
