How to Correctly Share Your Blog Post Articles on Social Media
You’ve spent a lot of time creating, writing, formatting and publishing your latest blog article. And you certainly want as many fans and potential clients to read it.
So how do you get the most traffic to read your article once you share it on social media?
Here are two best practices to keep in mind
1: Make sure the best image that you want to appear on social media is near the top of your article.
Then after you publish the post, head over to the Facebook Sharing Debugger to “force” Facebook to grab the image: https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/
Simply paste in the blog post URL (web address) and click Debug. Then if the image does not appear, or you want a different image to appear, click “Scrape Again.”
Once you see the correct Link Preview you are ready to paste that web address into a Facebook post and share it.
2: Why should anyone care about your article?
Do not simply paste the web address into a new update and hope for the best. You must add a few sentences for the reader that will entice them to actually click the article and read it.
We are all too busy and have no time for anything. You must tell me WHY I should care. Why should read your article? How will I benefit?
Truth: If it’s not interesting or exciting for me to click, I simply won’t.
That’s the hard truth we all live by. Your time is too valuable, my time is too valuable, and your audience’s time is too valuable to click on something we are not interested in.
Your biggest challenge will be to learn how to make the few sentences exciting and enticing enough to get your reader interested enough to click over and read the article.
There You Go
Now that you know HOW to add your blog post to social media and WHY others should care, it’s time to get your posts out there!
Biggest thing to keep in mind: seeing results from your efforts take time. Please get comfortable with the idea that it takes consistency. Do not get frustrated or concerned if you do not immediately see results from posting your articles on social media.
Instead, each time see if you have learned something from the process. Perhaps you got a little better at writing, or coming up with a topic, or finding your voice… There is always something to learn.
Keep at it. And feel free to share your recent posts with us below. I am more than happy to take a look and share them further on social!
