The Las Vegas Conference Calendar – 4 Unique Ways to Join Us This Year!

what's on your mind?
What fights for your attention inside your mind?
It amazes me just how often the pet sitting industry is on my mind.

You know when you get a song stuck in your head and it cycles through your brain over and over?

Well, it’s like that, but instead of having lyrics and the tune of a popular 80s hit on my mind, I have a handful of pet sitting thoughts, projects and new ideas fighting for head space at any given time!

Luckily, serving pet sitters is a passion of mine, so it’s no bother.

(I can’t say the same had it been, say, “Oh Mickey you’re so fine, you’re so fine you blow my mind, hey Mickey!”)

This Week’s Mickey is The Las Vegas Conference

Winning the fight for head space this week is our upcoming Las Vegas pet sitting conference.

We are coming down to the wire, with just about 40+ days before the big event.

Now is the time to get your tickets, come on board, and plan your trip.

This week, I offer you a variety of ways to make your decision to join us in person this October 7 and 8 even easier.

The Conference Calendar 2013: This Week.

Monday – August 26 – What’s been going on?

Things progress pretty quickly when planning a conference.

New speakers get added. New sponsors come on board. New door prizes (SWAG!) are announced.

To recap:

Bella Vasta will be speaking on how to set the perfect price for your business, why it’s so important to get right, and how to make sure potential clients feel comfortable with the prices you set. Bonus: Have staff? Determine what you are really earning on a personal level. And, see if you are charging correctly to ‘afford’ staff.

Maribeth Kuzmeski will be joining us and will be presenting on the topic of What’s working right now to attract new clients and fans, expose your brand, get people talking, and differentiate yourself.

Lastly, marketing genius Beth Hayden will discuss all things blogging and content creating (see Friday). Learn effective traffic building techniques that will draw clients to your website and blog. Plus, how to create the best content possible.

Oh, all attendees will receive their very own Harness Lead (see Tuesday) and an autographed copy of the New York Times best selling book on marketing, Youtility.

Tuesday – August 27 – Sponsor-a-Pet-Sitter Phone Chat

Having trouble finding the funds to attend our conference in person? Get ready to pack your bags!

Through our ‘Sponsor A Pet Sitter‘ program, one lucky pet sitter will win the chance to join us in Vegas, compliments of Harness Lead.

Join us on this live phone call with Lisa, inventor and creator of the Harness Lead for your chance to be the pet sitter who is sponsored (we pick up conference ticket fee and 2-night hotel stay at the Tropicana. You pick up the airfare.)

Joshua Cary will discuss 3 solid ways you can use the Harness Lead in your own business to make more money, win more clients, or simply make your job so much easier. Any way you look at it, it’s an overall win.

Plus, the inventor of the Harness Lead will be giving a live demo of the lead in Las Vegas, and each attendee with us in person will receive their very own Lead to take home.

Wednesday – August 28 – PetSittingOlogy Scholarship Program

Since 2009, PetSittingOlogy has been providing pet professionals at all stages of their careers with tools, products and resources to succeed even further. We are proud to introduce the next level of service to the industry via the PetSittingOlogy Scholarship Program.

Simply put, the aim is to find, discover and promote pet sitters that bring something different, incredible and unique to the table.

There is no one correct way to run a pet sitting business, and so many professionals today have amazing stories that need to be heard.

PetSittingOlogy is awarding 3 pet sitters an all inclusive, fully paid trip to the conference (we pay for your conference ticket, your hotel 2-night stay, and your round trip airfare).

They get to attend the conference as our guest, plus be part of a special Q&A Panel Discussion taking place on Tuesday, Oct. 8. That’s where we will learn about your success, how you achieved it, and how we can implement the same in our business. More details coming on Wednesday.

This scholarship program is presented by our WordPress SEO Websites and our Virtual Office Management service.

Thursday – August 29 – Are Pet Sitters Taken Seriously?

youtube screenshot

On one seemingly innocent drive to work the other morning, I began to get a dialogue going in my head about the way the general public perceives (and treats) a pet sitter.

I spend plenty of time online and in Facebook groups, and continually hear the same issues and struggles we have.

Enough is enough!

While cruising down the highway, I grabbed my phone, opened the voice recorder, and began ranting into the mic.

Ten minutes later – and more adrenaline than usual cycling through my body – I had something worth sharing.

I transcribed the recording and shared it with Bella Vasta, to get her thoughts on the matter.

She loved it so much that she suggested I also record a short video to go along with it.

So I did.

The point of this manifesto is to bring up the questions “Are pet sitters taken seriously? How does the general public perceive a pet sitter? And what can we do together as an industry to improve the overall reputation?”

I ask you to get angry, get fed up, and get involved!

  • Why should a pet sitter blog in the first place?
  • What results can a pet sitter expect from blogging?
  • How often should you blog, anyway?
  • What in the world should I write about?
  • …and much more on blogging and content writing!
