Hey there Katy,

Here's the thing about the Welcome Home Email. Only a very small amount of clients may return with a review, so in order to get a few you'll need to send out to many!

If you just send out to, let's say, 5 clients, you may very well not got any back. Does that make sense? It's just the nature of the game.

Also, make sure you are sending within a week of the job ending. And you want to make it as simple and easy for them to leave feedback. (No messy logins or hoops to jump through).

You are right - a Review Us Here button on your site would be unnecessary. I've never heard of a big issue with a competitor posting fake reviews. It's certainly not enough of a concern to prevent you from posting legit reviews in the first place.

If you find a fake review, you can either delete the review, OR you can reply as business owner challenging the valitidy of the review.

Hi Joshua,

I never feel comfortable trying to solicit reviews. Tried asking a few clients via something similar to your welcome home email but no joy. What are your thoughts on including a "Review Us Here" button (linked to perhaps your Google place page or Yelp) on your website?

With this method, I like that you can ask without making the client feel obligated. Then again my regular clients have no need to visit my website so I doubt they'd even see the request. Also, does this not open you up to competitors posting fake reviews of your business?

Hey Vicki,

Ugghhh, as it turns out, they discontinued this ability in Outlook 2007. It looks to work in other versions, though.

I have Outlook Express installed on my computer, which is the program I use to send those emails.

Thanks for a good idea to dress up the follow-up email with HTML. I carefully followed the instructions you listed but they didn't work. What version of Outlook are you using. I have Outlook 2007.
